MISSION – Assist community development by cultivating relationships of citizens, intervention practitioners, and stake holders; seeking the well-being of our neighborhoods.
HISTORY & PURPOSE - In fulfilling the vision of our founder Darren Bo Taylor, Unity One seeks to build upon past experiences and lessons. Unity One has adopted organizational infrastructures since its internal role in the development of the historic 1992 Cease Fire Agreement in West Los Angeles.
Our focus is to provide wrap-around services by empowering individuals with long-term relationships in the communities they serve. These services address root causes of problems and challenges that people face today.
Unity One, is positioned in four geographic communities throughout the County of Los Angeles and provides gang violence intervention and conflict mediation services to over 150 individuals and families daily. In addition, Unity One in partnership, with A Better LA and its co-founder Pete Carroll, Head Football Coach of the NFL Seattle Seahawks forge ahead with a goal of creating a national model for how peace is created and sustained in urban war zones.

Our Goals
- To solidify the Community Passage to Peace Initiative, lay the foundation to form Grassroots Commissions in our Greater Los Angeles service areas (Watts/South LA, West Adams, Pico/La Brea and Inglewood)
- To provide Mentors/Community Intervention Specialists in aforementioned areas
- Introduce the NICHE Leadership Skills Curriculum
- To provide technical expertise in Conflict Mediation/Resolution and
- Facilitate social consciousness through the organizing of community projects and events
