Community Passage to Peace

Unity One provides Community Conflict Resolution, Crisis Intervention and Social Services to over 150 individuals and families daily through the Community Passage to Peace project. The objective in the greater Los Angeles area is to form "Grassroots Commissions" in our four service areas (Watts/South LA, West Adams, Pico/La Brea and Inglewood) within a 3-5 year period. The developing commissions are facilitated through grassroots leadership, equipped with soft and hard skills they serve as a voice in the communities we serve. Unity Ones objective is to empower people with community and economic self-sufficiency tools.

Community Reentry

In collaboration with the Federal Probation Department in Inglewood, our Community Reentry Program currently facilitates 16 week impact sessions for both Male and Female ex-offenders returning back into the community. Community Reentry is designed to reduce recidivism by helping returning inmates find work and assess other critical services in their communities. In 2010, Unity One will unveil the Niche Leadership Skills Curriculum enhancing our approach of not only transforming negative mental attitudes into positive ones, but also revolutionizing community leadership.

Project Save

In collaboration with Los Angeles City Council Member Herb Wesson of the 10th District, Project Save offers a cross town inter neighborhood sports league. The All Stars Basketball and Football teams are made up of members of respected neighborhoods', which enthusiastically participate in our sports leagues as a way to reduce violence. This mechanism restores healthy physical activity while developing strong community ties.

Niche Leadership Skills Curriculum

Unity Ones 10 lesson Niche Leadership Skills Curriculum widens our organizational professional ability to build sound, harmonious relationships with self, others and our community environments; with the ability to act responsibly, safely and to succeed in a variety of social conditions and effectively solve problems.
